Are You Looking For Pet Adoption Websites?

Things which are best in life are often free. This song lyric is true in most instances. But do you actually envision free pet adoption? No, this is not the virtual pets that you can download and use at your websites. This is also free but the main difference lies in the pets that you will be getting. Forget the codes that you have to copy and paste on your site because this is the real thing. You can get real animals that can be your pets just by excavating through the available online adoption centers.

Make a Difference
Every year, about four million animals are being executed in the United States alone. Think about just how many more experience the same fate all over the world. But you cannot solely put the blame on the people who decide on these things. There are many pets that are being uncared for and as a result, these animals wander aimlessly. They experience the world’s cruelty that is why they sometimes end up as cruel and can be harmful to other people.

Pet adoption can be achieved in many ways. There are centers wherein you can get the animals with a minimal fee. The costs that will be incurred in this process are still much lower than when you opt to buy the pets on commercial stores. You can gain information about such centers on your local vets and even on the pet stores on your locality. The advantage of this route is that you are assured that the animals that you are getting have been treated with proper vaccinations and other required treatments. Most of the time, you will be assisted by the facilitators of the center so that they can match you with the kind of pet that will suit your lifestyle. This way, you are assured that you will be getting not only what you want but also what you need.

In any adoption scenario though, it will be better to do this during the springtime or even in early fall. These seasons are known as the breeding seasons. You will have many choices with the kinds and breeds of the animals on the shelters. For the moment, Christmastime is not a suitable season for completing the adoption procedure. Many people are actually doing this during this month that you will have only minimal choices. And besides, with all hustles and the bustles that the occasion may present, you may even want to go a holiday trip, you can afford to worry about the pet that you will left behind at home.

Perfect timing is also a key to be successful with this venture. You have to find your perfect match in terms of pets. And you have to find it during when you can really allot time for it.

There are also free adoption centers available for you if this is the setup that you prefer. You can find the right leads mostly on websites. These kinds are being held up by non-profit organizations that aim to help lost animals to be found by their rightful owners. These are the people who would really care for them even if they don’t look as superb as the ones available commercially or that they don’t look as cute as a famous’ personalities featured pet on TV.

Take your time in order to browse the Net for the available links which can guide you for free pet adoption portals. Think about any steps that you will take after you click on the sites. And before even setting your eyes on the pet that you want to adopt, make sure that you are really ready to welcome the animal into your home and into your life.

Diet Is Also Important For Your Pets

Nutrition is the basis of good health both for people and pets. Diet is a very important part of our pet's health care. A diet for pets consists of an assortment of whole foods enriched with vitamins and minerals. They also require enzymes and supplements to promote the best possible health and to prevent.

Our pets are really natural hunters. The dog that is so comfy on your couch comes from the wolf, and its digestive system is almost the same even through thousands of years of domestication. Our dog and cat pets have very short intestinal tract and it is geared to eat and digest raw foods. Your cat is predestined to digest raw meats best.

For obvious reasons, most of us feed our pets commercial foods. But, we do know what can go wrong if we do not know how to choose this food properly. For most dogs and cats, a home-prepared raw food diet is best. This is not possible for many of us, especially since a large population now owns more than one pet, even more than one type of pet. At HealthyPetNet we use only Human Grade Ingredients. The secret of having a top quality food for your pets.

Ps please do not give your dogs/cats supplements without consulting your vet. For instance, a dog has the ability to create their own vitamin C. A human cannot. Even though our pets are part of the family, do not forget, they are animal, and have animal needs!

Annoyed By Your Cat's Waste All Over?

You find your pet cat all too adorable and lovable but they can be “annoyable” because just like any other animals, they do drop their droppings or litter anywhere they go, unless you train him or her or them. And furthermore, honestly speaking, as a matter of fact, the truth is, cat litter are way too smelly, right? You should know this because you just love cats but you hate their droppings. Now, it’s time for you to learn how to make your surroundings clean. You can’t avert your cat to “bottomless” things but you can do something like training yourself to learn some tips and hints on how to train your cat to “use the toilet” and you don’t have to go far and wide to learn those thins. You just go to this toilet train your cat review site and you will find a good guide that will help you how to train your cat.

So, why go first to review sites instead of looking for the best guides on how to toilet train your cat? You need to be aware that the Internet is an ideal place to search for things, to shop for items, a place where you can find a good profit opportunity but unfortunately, for both good people and bad scammers. Now, what if you try to look for something on your own, then, you register and pay online, and then, wait patiently for a century for the products you’ve bought only to discover in the end that they are non-existent. Or maybe, you have received the item, say, a training guide to teach you how to toilet train your cat, then found out, it’s not that really reliable or something like that. Yes, they can put forward a money-back guarantee but it would be such a waste and moreover, no scammer will ever offer a money-back guarantee if he will really scam the hell out of you and blow your budget to smithereens.

That’s why, when you’re looking for a book guide to help you learn how to toilet train your “purrty” feline friend, go and look for a toilet train you cat reviews site and from there, you will find nothing but the best training guides and you can readily choose one which you think is best for you. What’s more, you will learn personal points of view from pet cat lovers what they have opt for and how they got advantage from it.

Dog Food: Don't Go Cheap

When you spend a little more on your dog food you are getting a superior product and isn't your dog worth it? Knowing you are buying the best to feed your dog for his best health is its own reward. Your dog will look great and be happy. This is what every dog owner wants.

Dog food ingredients are important to pay attention to. Many dog food manufacturers count on your purchasing your dog food at the local store or grocer because this is so convenient. Most people like to pick up their dog food where they purchase their food for the family each week. Some dog food manufacturers that are carried at the grocer feel they can get away with cutting corners on your dog's good health. Don't buy into that or you will have a very unhealthy pet.

Most important to remember is to check your labels! Look for protein listed first so that you are certain to get the optimal nutrition for your dog. Avoid labels that contain multiple by-products on the list as this is inferior nutrition and not the food you want to be feeding your beloved dog.

More About Those Ingredients On The Label!

GRAINS - Some manufacturers use grains; such as, soy, corn, corn gluten and wheat gluten as protein sources. Additionally, these grains can be difficult to digest. Low digestibility means less nutrition and more clean up. Foods that list 2 or more grains in the first 5 ingredients may have more vegetable protein than animal protein.

VEGETABLES -
Provide essential vitamins, minerals, antioxidants and fiber as well as other important nutrients vital for health and maintenance.

FATS - Some fats are better than others. We believe the primary fat source in dog food should be animal based because animal fats contain a profile of fatty acids that are easily metabolized and thus are generally more available to the body. Animal fats can vary in quality. For example, some manufacturers believe beef tallow may be more difficult to digest than chicken fat.

FIBERS - We believe a good fiber; such as, "beet pulp" paces the rate of digestion, which helps maintain a healthy digestive tract and promotes normal stools.

PROTEINATED MINERALS - Offer better absorption.

GRAPESEED EXTRACT - A natural source of concentrated antioxidant nutrients.

BACTERIAL CULTURES - Support a healthy immune and digestive system.

RECLOSABLE BAG* - Convenient reclosable bag helps protect against moisture and pests.

Be Picky In Choosing Your Pet's Food

How to Get the Best Pet Insurance

best pet insurance

When it comes to making sure that your pets are completely covered in case they ever need major medical attention, the best thing you can do is to look into the best rated pet insurance. Having the best pet insurance means that your little friend will be able to receive the proper medical attention and care in the event something happens, even if you really cannot afford the large medical vet bills that would typically come along with it. Many owners simply do not have the hundreds or thousands of dollars needed when it comes to giving their pets the best coverage possible. With the best pet insurance on your side though, you do not have to worry about paying the vet bills.

One thing to keep in mind though is that even the best pet insurance will have you pay the bill upfront as the vet office will want their money right then and there when you take your pet home and there is no way for the insurance company to process payments that fast. You will have to pay the vet right away and the best pet insurance company you choose will reimburse you for the expenses covered in your policy. It can take a few weeks before you see your reimbursement check from the pet insurance company. Even though that may put a damper on some things, it is certainly a lot better then not having any coverage at all.

Shopping for Insurance

When it comes to shopping for the best pet insurance, you want to make sure that you are looking over all of your options. You can start with your local vet, but you need to do a great deal of research when searching for the best pet insurance for you. If you are wondering what the insurance company will actually pay you, vet offices can be a good place to start. Figuring out the best pet insurance company for you will be found after plenty of good research.

Start online and compare the list of companies with one another. Look at what all is covered under the different plans and how much each one costs. You will also want to take a look at how long they have been in business and if they have a lot of satisfied customers out there or not. You need to determine how long it will be before the pet insurance company gives you your reimbursement money after you have paid the bills and given the company the information they require. All of those things are major factors in considering who the best pet insurance company is for you and your pet.

HealthyPetNet And Animal Welfare Groups

(My Adopted "Shorty")

From Dr Jane Bicks, Of HealthyPetNet-Trilogy Pets:

I’m so thankful to be a part of HealthyPetNet, which actively promotes the welfare and health of companion animals. From order fulfillment to customer service, from accounting to our company principles, we’re all pet people. Helping companion animals lead healthier, longer and happier lives is not just our company commitment … it’s our personal mission.

We have not only worked very hard to provide the best possible products, we’ve also established a foundation to help improve the lives of abandoned dogs and cats all across our great nation. The Dr. Jane’s HealthyPetNet Foundation is a non-profit organization dedicated to supporting a variety of home-grown animal rescue groups.

We provide funding to deserving organizations that meet very specific qualifications, including: providing full veterinary care, maintaining a caring and safe environment, demonstrating a high level of cleanliness and facilitating adoptions of their rescues. All of the selected organizations are shining examples of rescue groups, providing loving support to the wounded souls who have endured the unfortunate hardships of neglect and abuse. We’re absolutely committed to giving much needed help to these small rescues, as they achieve so much with so few resources.

It gives me great pleasure to announce the recipients of The Foundation’s financial awards made in the second half of 2009.

Lucky Cat Adoptions

Lucky Cat Adoptions’ mission is to improve the welfare of stray and abandoned cats and kittens throughout the Jacksonville metropolitan area. They maintain their association solely on donations and through fundraising efforts, receiving no funds from any city, state or federal agencies. Their feral rescues receive the same medical care that adoptable cats do and are eventually re-homed with those who have expansive properties. Every penny they collect goes toward veterinary care, food, litter and essential expenses for the animals they rescue. We commend their efforts to educate the public on responsible pet ownership and their promotion of spaying and neutering programs.

Noah's Ark Sanctuary for Abused and Abandoned Animals

In 2003, Noah's Ark opened a small feline adoption center in Pompano Beach, FL. The cats are humanely trapped, tested for disease, spayed and/or neutered, and vaccinated. And although they do not have a physical shelter for dogs, they do not hesitate to rescue the strays they encounter, placing them with volunteer foster parents. Their ultimate goal is to create a no-cage, no-kill shelter with enough fenced area for healthy feral cats to roam freely and safely, and to house stray and abandoned dogs in a home-like setting with room to run.

Sanctuary Animal Refuge and Hospice

This caring group seeks to provide sanctuary to any animal that does not have a human family. They actively work to rehabilitate all of the animals brought into their facility. Rehibilitated animals will often become surrogate parents to new additions at the Sanctuary, creating security for all who call this loving place home. The living quarters for the animals are "condos" or "town homes", all of which are furnished with the comforts of a home. Volunteers spend time with all of the animals on a structured schedule to ensure that they receive plenty of exercise, human interaction and healthy doses of love.

Rescue K911

Located in Tallapoosa County, AL, this all-volunteer rescue group takes in stray, lost and abandoned animals. Over the last eight years, they have rescued over 600 dogs and 34 cats from the streets of loneliness and starvation. On any given day, they offer excellent care to over 100 companion animals. Rescue K911 provides food, shelter and vet care to those in need; promote spay and neuter programs in their community; and helps place newly revived and healthy dogs and cats into loving homes.

Hobe Sound Animal Protection League

A non-profit, no-kill, feline rescue group, this Palm City, FL, rescue uses the TNR Program (trap, neuter, return or re-home) with cats that have been abandoned, which is a humane method of controlling the overpopulation of homeless cats. They also house non-adoptable cats who are not fully socialized or have disabilities which may prevent them from finding permanent placement. Their property features "campgrounds", a unique combination of hideaway condo-like buildings which offer safety, security and privacy for each and every feline resident. Since 2001, they have spayed and neutered over 600 cats from various feral colonies in Martin County.

Rescue Rehab Home, Inc.

This organization focuses on a handful of dogs at a time, rescuing those who seem nearly beyond hope. In what is truly an incredible undertaking in care and devotion to canines, this unique organization purchased ten acres of land in the mountains near Boulder, CO, for the express purpose of giving dogs room to frolic and roam. They provide medical care, boarding, feeding and training, all with the long-term goal of placing these dogs with loving families.

Basset Hound - That Big Gentle Lug Of A Dug

I want a bite of you...
Creative Commons License photo credit: BL1961

My brother had a Basset called "Bobo" named after Columbo's dog. They are so beautiful.

The Basset Hound is such an amendable dog. Most Basset Hounds accept training with such good nature and comprehension that the trainer has very little to do.

Chances are that, if you wish to put a collar and leash on a puppy for the first time, he will modestly buck and kick, and then accept it and walk like a pro.

Most Bassets will automatically sit or lie down when you stop walking, so you just need to co-ordinate your commands with his actions and bingo! You have a trained Basset puppy

With over 25,743 customers (and counting),SitStayFetch: Dog Training to Stop Your Dog's Behavior Problems is the premier product of Kingdom of Pets. This comprehensive guide is written by renowned dog trainer Daniel Stevens, who currently heads the Kingdom of Pets dog training and obedience team.

This Year's Resolutions For You & Your Pets

So while you were eating too much, running around spending too much, or spending too much time with people that you don't see all year, what was your pet doing at home during the holiday season? Now is a great time to hit the restart button and make some New Years resolutions that include your pet. Let's give up guilt.

As an Animal Communicator, one of the most common things I see is how much our animals reflect our state of being. When things are overly busy and we're going at 1,000 miles an hour and particularly this time of year, it's easy to shorten the walk or spend less time at home. Then the few moments we do have at home, we want to flop on the couch instead of going to the dog park. So then what follows? We feel guilty. Then, many people don't make the correlation between bad behavior and guilt. But it's right there like a map with a booby prize instead of the treasure we thought we were creating at home.

Animals really go along with quite a bit. Yes, they have their own karma. Yes, they have their own history. Yes, they have their own issues. But then they integrate with our karma, history, issues and other key members of the household. Sometimes it just doesn't go as planned!! Many things go into that special recipe of mishaps like poop by the door, or peeing outside the box or the other marvelous things that we scratch our head and say "why is this happening now?" Nine times out of ten, we set it up. But that's not an invitation to feel even guiltier. Just become aware that maybe one of the key ingredients in the special recipe is our guilt.

When people call me about separation anxiety a lot of times, I have to remind the person that A. they don't have to take on the guilt of the person that had the dog before that left him/her behind. B. they can't feel guilty about going to work or other silly things we humans have to do. (They'd hate the drycleaners or standing in line at the DMV - come on!!) Animals pick up on our pictures, words and feelings. If we are hanging on to both of those components (feeling guilty about their past and feeling guilty about how we are feeding into their issues presently), that is a no-win situation.

One woman said to me that she had to get rid of her dog because she felt so guilty that he was at home all day while she was working. I said "why don't you get rid of the guilt instead?" She looked at me like I was crazy. I said "Just try it for 3 days". I saw her 3 days later and she was ebullient. She said that she was amazed what that had done not just for her dog but for her kids! She said that prior to our meeting the dog was overly rambunctious when she got home. Now he was very calm as if he was aware of the quality time she was willing to spend with him even if it was just a little while vs. the usual burden she treated him like, thus resulting in naughty behavior for attention. Not only that but her children bonded even more with the dog and there was no turning back now.

We can set the tone in the household and be emotional leaders. We don't have to remain hostage to how our animals are acting out. That's why as a group intention - it would be fun to give up guilt. Even if you just manage to do it for a day - see how it goes.

Toilet Training Your Cat in 2 Quick Steps

Complete Cat Care

About anybody who possessed a house cat knows what a pain it is, to take care of a kitty litterbox and clean it whenever it has to be or when the cat demands it. And so many owners of indoor cats do know what an even bigger task it is when the kitty doesn't use the litter box! For sure there are those among us who dream of higher achievments and do not wish to improve litter box cleaning. For these cat owners, there is good news now. Indeed, believe it or not, cats can be trained, to use an actual toilet. When you do the toilet training with your cat, you will teach it in the process to move from using a litter box to using a toilet. While this sounds too good to be true, don't be frustrated when you realize that you still have to press the toilet flush button for your kitty.

1. Relocating Your Cat's Litter Box

In case your cat's litter box is not yet in the bathroom, you will have to place it there. The litter box should be by the toilet on the ground for several days. After severals days you can raise the litter box up a few inches using something very stable to sit under it. In case you have no furniture fitting this description, you can use books if they are arranged in a stable manner. Of course, to reach the point where the rim of the cat box and the toilet bowl are even. Then you want to put a sturdy aluminum pan over the toilet bowl in a manner that will support your cat steadyly as you start the toilet training with your cat. Reduce the amount of kitty litter now to less than an inch across the bottom of the pan.

2. Making your Cat feel Comfortable when using the new Toilet

After you have removed the litter box and have the cat using the pan only, you are now ready to begin the last part of toilet training of your cat. You should begin the training by putting some holes in the surface of one side of your aluminum pan. Yes, you will need to reduce the cat litter so that it doesn't go down the toilet. Plus, you should think on using flushable kitty litter at this point. The holes are supposed to force your cat to stand with its front paws on the toilet seat when it needs to potty. Once your kitty has been doing this for several days, you can make holes on the opposite side of the pan so that the kitty will stand completely on the toilet seat. The critical step of the toilet training is that you have to remove the pan after your kitty has been doing this with success for a while. If you have been successful with the cat toilet training, your cat will from now on use the toilet you are using, too!

A Final Info on Toilet Training your Cat

These two lessons can easily last as long as two to three months with a stubborn, senior cat. So be patient with your canine. Remember water isn't exactly what cats are usually comfortable with. Don't stop if your cat doesn't use the new toilet every day. Just keep your pan in case your cat is against it or at some time down the road reverts to not using the toilet. Put the pan back on the toilet and the cat can re-learn to take the toilet again pretty fast. The advantages of toilet training your cat are many.
